Micatone – Gun Dog w / Alex Barck Remix
A good year lies ahead for Sonar Kollektiv: One of the stables’ most successful and most enduring horses is back at the starting gate. After a hiatus of seven years Micatone will finally release their new and long-awaited fourth album “Wish I Was Here” in March. With “Gun Dog” we get a jaunty candy as a taster for the enhanced richness, maturity and deepness of the Berlin based five-piece’s sound.
In addition to the original album version the 12″ features a more laid back rendition (“Shuffle Version”) and a remix by Sonar Kollektiv honcho Alex Barck. After his widely acclaimed remixes f.e. for Incarnations and Jeremy Glenn, Barck once again shows proof of his understanding how to make a proper song work in the club, most preferably at peak time. Building up and up until half way through it suddenly breaks down to cause one of these magic, energized moments almost every respectable DJ longs for. Therefore, we don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t bag this one in!
