
Member Of Trick 06: Lotus / All I Want
Oh how time passes! With a flick of the wrist the TRICKSKIs YANNICK LABBÉ and DANIEL BECKER conjure up a new 12″ every two months. For this edition they have enlisted the skills of none other than the newly formed finish project FBI (FUTURE BEAT INVESTIGATORS): a collaboration between LIL’ TONY (NUSPIRIT HELSINKI), ROBERTO RODRIGUEZ (TRACK N FIELD) and KIMMO OKSANEN (ACID KINGS). The trio have a minimal yet very uplifting techno sound which has already been received with open ears by Raw Fusion, SASSE’s Mood Music as well as by TRICKSKI and the Sonar Kollektiv. With this 12″ FBI bring out the first of many interesting singles.
All I Want is a crispy goove number just right for prime time. Filtered sequencers, a sprinkling of vocal, minimalist bass lines and the strings that come in at the end create a kind of afro feeling. In comparison Lotus is a tremendous, almost mystical number ideal for the small hours of the morning in the club. It’s a hypnotic synthesizer melody, built around a swinging beat which gives way to ice cold breaks. If you don’t see all hands in the air when you put this on, nothing can help you…
