Member Of The Trick 05: Le Coq Sportif
Who can believe this is already the 5th edition in the successful Members Of The Trick series? With Le Coq Sportif TRICKSKI aka YANNICK LABBE and DANIEL BECKER present another must-have 12″.
This time its not brand new material rather a rerelease of two great tracks from the pre-TRICKSKI era. Both tunes are early recordings from TRICKSKI member YANNICK LABBE and originally came out 2004 on DANIEL PAUL from SLOPE’s label Cabinet Records.
In the words of YANNICK LABBE himself: „Gallieni, reflects the style you can also hear in TRICKSKI. It rolls across the dancefloor and nobody present can resist the groove. Hotbox is definately one for the ladies. It’s kind of like a synth battle and just drives and drives…” And TRICKSKI, who are gaining media attention all the time, had the idea to bring these two tracks back into the limelight.
There’s something here for francophiles by the way: both track came about in Paris. Gallieni is even named after a bus station. And how did they come up with the title Le Coq Sportif? YANNICK LABBE: “That’s our homage to ZIZOU. Firstly, the design is going to be all in blue, and also the record inspires a sporting reaction on the dance floor.” How right he is!
