Jazzanova – No Use feat. Clara Hill (Eric Hilton Remix)
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their iconic debut album In Between, Jazzanova has invited a handpicked selection of visionary producers to reimagine the project’s timeless tracks. The third single from the upcoming remix compilation is here: a mesmerizing reinterpretation of “No Use” by legendary downtempo pioneer Eric Hilton.
Originally released in 2002, No Use featured the velvety vocals of Clara Hill and helped define the broken beat and future soul era. Now, Eric Hilton lends his cinematic, bass-rich signature sound—refined through decades of work with Thievery Corporation—to create a smoky, introspective groove that feels both timeless and brand new.
Hilton’s version strips the track to its emotional core, wrapping Hill’s voice in lush textures, shimmering delays, and dubby atmospheres. It’s a slow-burning gem that echoes his legacy of blending global rhythms, downtempo aesthetics, and soul-stirring production.
Known as one of the architects of modern chillout and lounge music, Eric Hilton co-founded Thievery Corporation in 1995, pioneering a sound that fused bossa nova, hip-hop, reggae, Indian classical, and electronic elements. Beyond his work with the duo, Hilton has built a deep solo catalog of cinematic, genre-defying releases—including 2024’s Sound Vagabond and Out of the Blur. His music has featured in countless compilations, films, and international playlists, always defined by its warm depth and musical storytelling.
“No Use (Eric Hilton Trust A Thief Remix)” is a next chapter in the In Between celebration—a campaign that includes a full remix album with contributions from Crackazat, Satin Jackets, Magro, The KBCS, Nautilus, Kid Fonque, Groove Chronicles, and more. The remix album drops October 17, 2025 on Sonar Kollektiv.
This isn’t just a remix—it’s a dialogue across decades, genres, and continents.
