Feiertag – Ocean
Sonar Kollektiv from Berlin welcomes Feiertag, which is the alter ego of Dutch live-act Joris Feiertag, to its roster. With ‚Ocean‘ the graduated musician and drummer shows how versed he is an electronic producer by playing all the instruments himself. He has written the smooth pop song in house tempo with vocals from the UK-based singer Oli Hannaford together with Hannaford. Soft bells and swelling synth sounds are combined with warm bass foundation and culminate in funky snare drums played like only a real drummer can play them. You could already hear Feiertag‘s talent in this regard when he skilfully played the drums on Pitto‘s album ‚Breaking Up The Static‘ in 2016 on Sonar Kollektiv / Virgin. The single ‚Ocean‘ starts off a threepart release series on Sonar Kollektiv with the release of Feiertag‘s six-track EP ‚Severance‘ in early 2020 as a highlight.
