Feiertag – Cala
Feiertag Cala is the third single to be taken from the forthcoming Dive album by Joris Feiertag and it is a deep and melodic slice of foot friendly electronica, and one of the more esoteric moments on this laconic LP. Cala was one of the last tracks to be recorded when making the album, but is definitely one of its most sonorous.
This new project sees the Dutch producer return to something like his musical roots, diving deeper into the use of synths and embracing more offbeat melodies. Cala, with its steel drums, guitars and dramatic, swooping synths has something of a Jamie XX feel to it. Neck snapping drums combine with sagacious refrains and well chosen vocal snippets, to produce a tenacious tune that will once again unite dance floors at a time we need them the most.
Having recently signed to Sonar Kollektiv, Feiertag released his debut long-playing record, Time To Recover, early last year. The album received high praise from international magazines, like DJ Mag and Fazemag, as well as from tastemakers and DJs worldwide.
Feiertag is that restless soul and musical magpie who’s always looking for new ways to express the melodies in his mind. Lucky, with a label as open-minded as Sonar Kollektiv, he has the freedom to do just that.
