Clara Hill & Crackazat – Better
Berlin and Bristol meet on “Better”, the first single from Harmony, the forthcoming collaborative EP from acclaimed singer-songwriter Clara Hill and British producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Crackazat.
While the release marks their first official collaboration, the story behind it stretches back more than two decades. Crackazat first discovered Clara Hill through her timeless vocal performance on Jazzanova’s classic “No Use”, becoming an instant admirer of her distinctive blend of soul, jazz and electronic music. Years later, Clara found herself equally captivated by Crackazat’s warm, sophisticated productions and organic approach to songwriting.
After finally meeting in person during a musical exchange in South Africa, the pair stayed connected, promising to one day work together. That opportunity arrived in 2024, when Crackazat was invited to contribute a remix to Jazzanova’s “No Use” anniversary project while Clara was simultaneously searching for a musical partner to help reconnect with the soulful electronic sound that shaped many of her earliest releases.
The result is Harmony, a three-track EP built on artistic trust, mutual respect and a shared love for sophisticated songwriting.
Its first single, “Better”, explores the tension between self-doubt and self-belief. Inspired by the tendency to overthink and hesitate in the face of change, the song reflects on the internal barriers we create for ourselves and the courage required to move beyond them.
“Better is a hopeful song,” says Clara Hill. “It acknowledges the chaos of doubts inside our minds but ultimately encourages us to trust ourselves and keep moving forward.”
Musically, the track perfectly captures that uplifting spirit. Crackazat’s warm keys, elegant production and gently propulsive groove provide the ideal backdrop for Clara’s rich, layered vocals, resulting in a timeless blend of electronic soul, jazz-infused house and contemporary songwriting.
A collaboration years in the making, “Better” marks the beginning of a new creative chapter for two artists whose musical worlds were always destined to meet.
