Alexander IV – All I Have to Say
Following the smooth neo-soul of “This Won’t Do” and the beat-switching instrumental “Touch of Gold”, Dutch producer and multi-instrumentalist Alexander IV returns with his third single, “All I Have to Say” — a smoky, late-night instrumental built on dusty jazz textures, laid-back drums, and deep emotional atmosphere.
Alexander IV is the alias of Joris Feiertag, an eminent beat-maker and drummer also known for his solo project Feiertag and long-time role in Kraak & Smaak. Under this pseudonym, he dives into the roots of jazz, hip-hop, soul, and downtempo beat culture — crafting sample-heavy soundscapes that feel both intimate and cinematic.
On “All I Have to Say”, Feiertag channels the spirit of J Dilla, Roy Hargrove, and Mr. Scruff into a track that feels like a quiet conversation after midnight — no words, just mood. “I think I was really inspired by Mr. Scruff on this one — probably because of the brass sample,” Joris shares. “I love how the groove feels laid-back yet still pushes forward at the same time.”
The track is the latest preview from Alexander IV’s debut album Alchemist, a 13-track journey through crate-digging nostalgia and forward-thinking soul. With contributions from Cézanne, Pete Josef, Oli Hannaford, Ursula Rucker, and instrumentalists like Luuk Hof, Bart Wirtz, and Robin de Zeeuw, the album bridges analog warmth and digital detail.
“The cinematic atmosphere I envisioned came through just as I hoped,” says Joris. “Every element has its place. Even the smallest quotes and samples are intentional — everything aligns.”
Alchemist drops March 2026 on Sonar Kollektiv.
