G’emma – Water
The end of the year will see the release of «Types Of Water», the debut EP from G‘emma (Emilie Nguimba) – the next true star in the German soul sky.
The Berlin native singer, piano player and producer started at the age of 15 to write her own songs between soul, pop & jazz. Last year she recorded a handful of self-penned songs with producers Dowakee and Quintin Copper (who recently released his debut album on Sonar Kollektiv) in Freiburg, all of which have full hit potential.
The pre-release single «Water» sounds astonishingly like 90‘s hip-hop / R&B in the vein of Pete Rock or Monica. But Dowakee and G‘emma didn‘t just put out a retro joint, but something more like the secret underground hit for this Indian Summer.
Airplay seems guaranteed!
