Feiertag – Palau
Sonar Kollektiv celebrated this summer with a bang: Feiertag‘s eagerly awaited debut album («Time To Recover») was released at the end of May and duly ushered in the carefree season everyone had been longing for.
In the meantime, however, Joris Feiertag has already retreated to a secluded house and spent a week working on new material. When you‘re in such a creative flow as the Dutch artist and producer is right now, a retreat like this will immediately produce enough songs again for a mini-album…
But for now, we‘ll settle for a three-track EP called «Ceylon». In advance you can listen to «Palau» – a song that couldn‘t end the summer better. Clamped in a deliciously dragging rhythm, brutally suspended piano chords move around imaginary, wildly spearing palm trees. After two minutes, it‘s already one of the happiest dub tunes we‘ve heard in recent years. And when at the end somebody starts to whistle the melody, anyone and everyone is all up with.
Feiertag keep it up!
