Jazzanova – I Human
After extensively touring all around the globe over the last few years Jazzanova finally went back to the lab. During last November the loose collective of stand-out musicians (members of the Jazzanova live band) spent some time together in the prestigious and legendary GDR Rundfunk Orchestra studios in East Berlin. Over several sessions most of the songs they have been performing live lately to critical and public acclaim were put to tape. This unique endeavour has been filmed and some of the footage can soon be seen in the video clip for the brand new song “I Human”. “I Human” predicts the upcoming new album „Funkhaus Studio Sessions“ (due in May 2012) and the tour of the same name (see dates below).
The 12″ (vinyl and digital release) features the mesmerizing vocal delivery by Detroit singer/musician Paul Randolph. Randolph is a steady member of the Jazzanova live band and has been touring with them over the last few years. In his words, “I Human” is a statement of the feeling you have when you create music and interact with people in a one-on-one and personal live situation, instead of ambivalent text messages and e-mails. And that’s what you can hear in this wonderful piece of live recorded music. Uplifting, life affirming, soul soothing and yes, human!
