25 Years of Sonar Kollektiv @ Kesselhaus, Berlin
The Berlin-based Sonar Kollektiv invites you to its 25th anniversary in the venerable Kesselhaus and celebrates its label anniversary with a immersive program of live concerts, live sets and DJs.
Of course, Jazzanova, who are not only style-defining DJs and producers and created a label for music lovers 25 years ago with Sonar Kollektiv, will not be missing. Jazzanova has also been touring internationally with the live band for more than 15 years and inspires fans of jazz, soul and electronic music.
20 years after the release of their debut album ‘In Between’, with which they became pioneers of nujazz, the Jazzanova Live Band will present the album on stage for the first time and make the sample-based way of working with musicians tangible.
Since you rarely celebrate alone, the label has also invited the youngest artists.
And so, alongside the Hamburg band The KBCS, who have been on tour with Thomas D (from Die Fantastischen Vier) for two years, delivered a remix for Fat Freddy’s Drop and interpreted a real soul classic by Shirley Turner, there will also be electronic sounds in the form of live sets.
The talented and busy drummer and producer Feiertag will perform tracks from his impressive selection of releases from the last four years live, including his latest album “Roots”.
As will TTeo, versatile artist, multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter, who has created a timeless piece with his latest album “Lovexpress77”, which is absolutely dancefloor-optimized and at the same time has a catchy tune character and will ensure dancing feet in the Kesselhaus.
To round off the evening with soul, disco, electronica & house, the SK DJs will first warm up the floor for the live program and then really heat up the dance floor again later.
