STREETON
STREETON is a British DJ, producer and songwriter whose soulful, rhythmically rich sound sits somewhere between broken beat, jazz-infused house, Afro-Latin percussion, and forward-thinking electronic music.
Originally hailing from Hertfordshire in the English countryside, STREETON relocated to London nearly a decade ago, immersing himself in the city’s deeply interconnected underground music communities. What followed was the gradual development of a distinctive musical language, one rooted in bruk culture, sound system energy, jazz harmony, soulful songwriting, and percussion-led groove.
Drawing inspiration from artists and movements spanning Kyoto Jazz Massive, Congolese funk, Afrobeat, jungle, house, and future jazz, STREETON’s productions balance warmth and musicality with genuine dancefloor intensity. Bouncy basslines, rich chord progressions, hypnotic rhythms, and detailed arrangements have become defining characteristics of his sound, whether in his club-focused productions or more reflective, song-driven work.
In recent years, STREETON has steadily established himself within the UK broken beat and future-jazz landscape through releases on respected labels including Dance Regular, Darker Than Wax, To The Rock, and Boogie Café. Alongside his productions, he has also become known for eclectic and energetic DJ sets, appearing at institutions such as We Out Here Festival as well as London radio mainstays Rinse FM and Voices Radio.
At the core of STREETON’s music lies a strong sense of storytelling and collaboration. His debut album “Iridescence”, released via Sonar Kollektiv, reflects both his personal journey and the vibrant creative communities surrounding London’s contemporary jazz and electronic scenes. Featuring collaborations with artists including Lucy Sparks, MIFE, David Kayode, and Faro, the project explores themes of identity, belonging, movement, and finding connection in an increasingly noisy and saturated world.
While deeply informed by the heritage of broken beat and soulful electronic music, STREETON’s work feels unmistakably contemporary — fluidly moving between club functionality, live instrumentation, emotional songwriting, and immersive listening experiences.
Whether through sunlit grooves, dubwise textures, or driving percussive workouts, STREETON creates music that feels alive: soulful, exploratory, and deeply rooted in rhythm.
