CHRISTIAN PROMMER invites his friend PETER KRUDER to reinterpret his jazzy rework of ÂME’s beautiful deep-house anthem Rej.

Former member of FAUNA FLASH with his long-time music mate ROLAND APPEL, of TRÜBY TRIO with ROLAND APPEL and RAINER TRÜBY, as well as VOOM :VOOM with ROLAND APPEL and Viennese legend PETER KRUDER, CHRISTIAN PROMMER has an amazing discography on his musical CV with releases on legendary labels such as Compost Records, G-Stone and Warp Records amongst many others and more than 15 years of know-how in music production. However he is making sensation this year with his brand-new project CHRISTIAN PROMMER’S DRUMLESSON that he releases on JAZZANOVA’s Sonar Kollektiv. It all started with the recurring idea he had of recording jazzy acoustic versions of his favourite dance classics and the outstanding success of his latin jazz rendition of DERRICK MAY’s Strings of Life. This musical phenomenon got ALEX BARCK of JAZZANOVA and the whole Sonar Kollektiv crew really excited, as well as DERRICK MAY himself. Such as critical acclaim was a call for a second strike and CHRISTIAN followed things up with a pacey acoustic rework of ISOLEE’s Beau Mot Plage, where he played with elements of the original and of the no less famous FREEFORM FIVE remix.

For the third release of his project CHRISTIAN PROMMER let this time his good friend and work mate PETER KRUDER have the spotlight he really deserves. KRUDER helped him with the production and the mastering of the whole DRUMLESSON project. And the one behind the beautiful downtempo project PEACE ORCHESTRA and behind the famous K&D sessions with his partner RICHARD DORFMEISTER gave a wonderful interpretation of DRUMLESSON’s rework of ÂME’s all-slayer deep house anthem Rej. Whereas CHRISTIAN’s version was a deep jazz affair, where percussionist ERNST STROER and drummer WOLFGANG HAFFNER showed their amazing dexterity and musical genius, PETER KRUDER’s new interpretation is much more dancefloor oriented and could fit in any electronic, jazz and house mix. On a pounding 4/4 bassdrum beat, Kruder emphasises Rej’s inimitable hook with the production weaponry and technique that made him so famous and let it take control of your mind after a beautiful bridge made of latin jazz rhythms and tribal melodies giving the track all its richness and intensity.
On the flipside we find a wonderful tune called Dirty Drums that CHRISTIAN PROMMER wrote and produced himself. Dirty Drums is a very uptempo drum track that builds up slowly to take epic rhythmic proportions. Starting off on a stomping bassdrum beat, percussionist ERNST STROER jams with african beats and rhythms over dangerously sexy harmonica sounds and very dirty guitar riffs. The result is a beautiful and incredibly effective drumtrack that will urge you to shake that booty on the dancefloor. Irresistible!
