Again a demo is the reason for this release. Together with Dixon we listened to it and straight away he got caught by the track "Careless Butterfly". So it was not difficult to get a remix for this track from one of the most famous and sought after remixer here in Berlin: Wahoo (a.k.a. Dixon & Georg Levin)!

Who is this person behind "Solar System", responsible for these beautiful originals: "Careless Butterfly" and "This you can't change"?

Thomas Hass Christiensen is first of all a composer, arranger and saxophonist. He played already in several Danish jazz bands and has won the European jazz federation competition 1988 with his group Page One.

He released two solo jazz albums in the 90's and worked as a sideman on numerous records and live acts in Denmark and around the world. He picked up computers while studying composition through the mid 90's with Bob Brookmeyer and he started a collaboration with Tommy Gee called "The Society". Their distinct sound brought them to Philadelphia where they remixed Ursula Ruckers first single "Supa Sista", produced "Q&A" to her "Silver and Lead" album and they released their first 12" single "How's Life" on Nite Grooves/King Street Sound in May 2003. A new 12" release is expected soon on Adrian Gibsons FreeStyle Records and a follow up from King Street is under construction.

The last years Thomas Hass Christiensen has also collaborated with the German projects Flanger, Pole and is a member of the world touring ensemble Senor Coconut (Atom).

He met Kendra as teacher on a music course where he immediately spotted her unique talent. They worked together on and off through the late 90's but a result of their collaboration is now this first 12" under the moniker "Solar System". Kendra has not been around in the Danish music circles too long. She first came to knowledge winning her round of a national television talent contest. Besides she has been working studio sessions and is also taking acting classes.
