Finally here is a release that combines the best of all of Berlin’s worlds again. Kasar, a pianist and engineer at the renowed Calyx Mastering Studio, has engaged the services of two of the most prominent equilibrists of the Berlin club circus to remix two tracks off his album "The Piano Has Been Smoking" : Alex Barck und Eva Be.
Arnold Kasar is one of the key players in Berlin’s music scene for years. Either as an in-demand engineer or as a top-notch session musician (he was a long time member of Micatone and Nylon). As well as a solo artists or with his project Atomhockey he’s been releasing genre bending music since 1999 - which came out on labels like Sonar Kollektiv. The label which is also home to Alex Barck and Eva Be. Both of them trimmed the two catchiest tracks off the current album to fit the dancefloors of these days. Alex Barck’s take on "Solo Sunny" with the sugarsweet vocals by Japanese artist Mami Konishi, aka Minguss gets a new, almost subsonic bassline which unleashes directly the happiness hormone dopamine. But still the track tippytoes slinky and gracefully like a Siamese cat from the dancefloor straight to the bedroom. On "Put A Light On Me" Kasar has a try as a singer for the very first time in his career. How perfect this works is writ large in Eva Be’s remix. Kasar’s warm vocals are the scaffold with which a skyscarper of a clubtrack is masterfully built. The sky is the limit!
