Stee Downes

Singer/Producer/DJ Stee Downes released his debut album on Sonar Kollektiv in 2009, followed by a 12” remix EP which featured a remake of Letta Mbulu’s “Whats wrong with groovin”. In the year following he toured with his live act and played alongside people such as Roy Ayers, Amp Fiddler, Fat Freddys Drop, Bugz In The Attic and DJ Spinna.

In that time he also featured on various releases for Diesler, Dublex Inc and Motor City Drum Ensemble.

Recently his track produced by Lovebirds entitled “Want you in my soul” held the top spot on Juno download and Traxsource for six weeks straight and is doing the rounds as we speak on dancefloor’s all over the world. The track has been charted by everyone from Frankie Knuckles to Tensnake.

“There is a truth” with MCDE was rotated by Benji B last year on his radio-show  and is featured on the latest Monorail 12” EP and this exposed Stee’s talents to the house music community.

He is currently completing his second album for release in Summer 2016 and is collaborating on projects with Rainer Truby & Danilo Plessow, a single for Future Classic and a follow up release with Lovebirds.

His music has developed through working with many different talented producers and musicians over the last two years and Stee is confident it has inspired a fresh approach to his latest material.

He is focusing on combining his vocal skills with his DJ performance to create an intuitive blend of soul, deephouse, boogie and disco.
